It’s hard to believe that 2011 is coming to an end. I feel like I’ve only gotten started here at Kidventurous, but yet I know there’s so much more in store for 2012. I’ve been blogging about family travel since April (here’s my first post on five great U.S. destinations for families to discover), so not too long, but I thought this would be a great time to share your favorite posts of the year.

Fun in Missouri: 5 Spots for Kids: There were many readers who wanted to know about all the fun stuff to do in Missouri. The Gateway Arch and the St. Louis Museum of Transportation are must-sees.

10 Best U.S. Beaches: You loved learning about the top beaches when they were announced in late-May. Siesta Key in Florida was voted #1, but there are a bunch of amazing ones on this list on both coasts, as well as two in Hawaii.

Choo-Choo: Kids Ride Free on Amtrak: Cost-cutters like me, you liked hearing about the Kids Ride Free program with Amtrak. I’ll be on be on the lookout for this offer to pop up again in late-spring.

Public Art Sculptures Your Kids Will Love: Sometimes it’s nice to do something a little different, and many readers enjoyed learning about the fun public art sculptures all over the country.

Summer Travel: 4 Discount Programs Worth a Second Look: Summer will be here again before we know it, so it’s worth checking out these summer discount programs again (and again).

9 Ways to Keep Your Kids Busy (Winter Break): It’s tough to be inside with cabin fever-crazed kids over holiday break, so I could tell you enjoyed checking out these fun ways to keep them busy.

8 Can’t-Miss Waterfalls: I’m a sucker for a good waterfall, and there are so many to see beyond the ever-beautiful Niagara Falls. Shoshone Falls in Idaho is definitely on my must-see list.

Hit the Slopes: 7 Ways to Save When Skiing With Kids: Ski season is here and many of you wanted to know how you could save while taking the family to the slopes.

Crayola to Jelly Belly: 7 Fun Factory Tours for Kids: Kids love a good factory tour and so do you. Among your favorites, Ben & Jerry’s in Vermont and the Crayola Factory in Pennsylvania.

Museums After Dark: 7 Overnight Family Adventures: Now this is something I’ve yet to do but there was much interest in overnight programs at aquariums, hall of fames and zoos. On my list for 2012.

Thanks to everyone who’s been reading my blog posts, both from the beginning and everyone I’ve picked up along this journey. I’m having a lot of fun so far and can’t wait to share more fun family travel adventures and ideas in the new year.
