No End to Snow: Hit the Slopes & Save on Lift Tickets

family skiingIt’s hard to believe it’s March 2 and we’re expecting 6-10 inches of snow tomorrow in the Washington, DC area. So, clearly, there is still time to get out on the ski slopes, which makes it appropriate that Liftopia’s National Play Hooky & Ski Week kicks off on Monday.

If you’re not yet familiar with Liftopia, it’s a website dedicated to sharing great deals on lift tickets at ski resorts both across the country and around the world. During National Play Hooky & Ski Week, skiers can save up to 78% over walk-up rates on lift tickets. That’s a big savings when you’re skiing as a family. In fact, some lift tickets start as low as $7.50.

Lift tickets vary by day depending on availability and popularity of the mountain. Look for deals like discounted one-day lift tickets and multi-day lift tickets you can use for three of four days at a ski area. If you find a deal you like you’ll need to either print out the voucher to show at the ski area’s main ticket window or use the free Liftopia mobile app and show the voucher on your iPhone when you arrive.

Note that while this coming week is National Play Hooky & Ski Week, you do not need to buy vouchers that must be redeemed this week. Here are a few of the popular lift ticket deals you’ll find, some of which include ski or snowboard rentals:

* Blue Knob (PA): Save up to 52% on two-day lift tickets (as low as $57.99)

* Snow Ridge (NY): Save up to 58% on one-day lift tickets (as low as $15.99)

* Boreal Mountain (CA): Save up to 45% on one-day lift tickets & ski rentals (as low as $51)

* Mount Snow (VT): Save up to 77% on one-day lift tickets (as low as $17)

Lift ticket deals do sell out, so if you’re thinking about an upcoming ski get away, you may want to head on over to Liftopia. Good luck, and have fun on the slopes!
