Thanksgiving TurkeyOrbitz recently released a holiday survey and found that more than 80 percent of travelers will fly, drive and take the train to be with family. Orbitz also ranked the top-10 Thanksgiving travel destinations, each of which has so much to see and do with your family both before and after your annual Turkey Day celebrations. Take a look.

  • #1: New York: There’s oh so much to do in New York City at Thanksgiving. Watch the floats pass by during the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, take in the splendor of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree or enjoy the Radio City Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes.
  • #4 Denver: For many, Thanksgiving kicks off ski season, and many of Colorado’s best resorts, including Aspen, Breckenridge and Vail, open for the season in November. It’s not too cold yet, so it’s a great time to hit the slopes.

Rounding out the top ten most popular Thanksgiving destinations are Las Vegas (natural history museum, aquarium, children’s museum), Washington, DC (museums galore, U.S. Capitol), Atlanta (aquarium, CNN studio tour, Centennial Park), San Francisco (trolleys, Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39) and Ft. Lauderdale (beaches, Butterfly World, botanical gardens).

Where are you this Thanksgiving holiday? What kinds of fun things will you be doing with your kids?
