Saving Money: 6 Airlines to Follow on Twitter

When I need to book a flight, I usually turn to Expedia or Travelocity, but more and more, the best deals are on Twitter, especially if you plan to fly a small, low-cost airline. Take a look at six airlines to follow for the best airfare deals.

Frontier Airlines: Follow @FlyFrontier for periodic sales announcements. Also, check out the hashtag #FlyBuy for tweets about select routes on sale.

Hawaiian Airlines: On a special Twitter account, @HawaiianFares, you’ll find great deals to Honolulu and Maui from various east and west coast cities.

JetBlue: Every Tuesday, JetBlue tweets out super-low prices on last-minute flights from the @JetBlueCheeps account on Twitter. With flights starting as low as $49 one-way, that’s reason enough to follow JetBlue.

Spirit Airlines: Follow @SpiritAirlines for regular low fare tweets, as well as special promotions that earn flyers loads of frequent flyer miles.

Sun Country Airlines: On Tuesdays, Sun Country tweets out weekly Wing It deals from @SunCountryAir on Twitter. You can find Wing It deals on their website too.

Virgin America: Follow @VirginAmerica, as well as the new hashtag, #FaresToFlyBy, for hot airfare deals on travel between 10/17 and 12/12. They also frequently run contests to win free flights

If you’re not partial to any one airline or are open to deals going anywhere, follow @TheFlightDeal and @AirfareWatchdog for great prices on a variety of routes.

  1. Thanks for the twitter links. I just flew to CA … should have checked the last minute fares. It wasn’t fun paying $600.
