2012 Passports with Purpose Fundraiser: Win a One-Night Stay at Hotel George in Washington, DC

Hotel George

It’s that time of year again, time for the annual Passports with Purpose travel blog fundraiser to raise money for a select international charity program. Last year, Passports with Purpose raised $90,000 to build two libraries in Zambia through a partnership with Room to Read. Amazing.

This is the fifth year of the Passports with Purpose fundraiser, and my first time participating, with the goal of raising $100,000 to build five community wells in Haiti as part of a partnership with Water.org. Through this effort, we’ll not only help Haitians gain access to clean water, but we’ll also make more people aware of the water crisis in Haiti and around the world.

So, here’s how this fundraiser works. Simply visit the Donate page on the Passports with Purpose website and donate $10. Each $10 donation is equal to one “raffle ticket” in a drawing to win any one of a variety of prizes that have been procured by participating travel bloggers, including Kidventurous.

For every $10 you donate, you have one entry that can be applied to either the prize you see here on my website or toward any other prize in the Passports with Purpose fundraiser. Feel free to donate as much as you like. All donations are tax-deductible.

So, what’s up for grabs from Kidventurous? Well, thanks to my good friends at Kimpton Hotels, I have a one-night weekend stay in deluxe accommodations at the Hotel George in Washington, DC ($500 value) up for grabs.

The Hotel George (aka The George) is DC’s first contemporary boutique hotel and is located just two blocks from the U.S. Capitol, so it’s perfect if you want to plan a weekend of Washington, DC sightseeing. It’s walking distance from the National Mall, National Gallery of Art, International Spy Museum, just about everything you want to see. Enjoy plush robes, in-room coffee service, a 24-hour fitness center and free wi-fi access.

Now for the fine print. The Hotel George voucher is good for a one-night weekend stay through December 31, 2013. There are no blackout dates. The final day to enter the giveaway is Sunday, December 11, 2012.

So, do you want to win? All you need to do is head to the Passports with Purpose donation page. From there you can check out all the other prizes, as well as donate $10 to get your “raffle ticket” to be used toward any of the prizes, including the one-night Kimpton stay that you read about here.

Thanks so much for your support, but before I wrap up this post, I’d like to give a huge shout out to all the 2012 Sponsors of Passports with Purpose, including Expedia, TripIt, TBEX, HomeAway, TravellersPoint, HostelBookers and Go with Oh. And, of course, a big, big thanks to Kimpton Hotels for making this fabulous giveaway possible.
