It’s Saturday, so that means it’s time to get out there and explore, but I wanted to share with you a quick round-up of the best of the family travel blogs this week.
Stop by Ciao Bambino for a fabulous guest post from Jamie at Travel Savvy Mom on the best educational iPhone and iPad apps for kids. These are great to have pre-loaded for road trips, and even plane trips. I recently paid $.99 for Stack the States, a geography-focused game, and already both my six and seven-year-old know the shapes and capitals of many, many states.
Gas just topped $4 per gallon in my area and WeJustGotBack has the scoop on some of the best gas rebates that have popped up among various resorts in Florida, California and the Midwest.
We’re excited to head to Walt Disney World in November, and even though it won’t be our first trip to the Magic Kingdom, I was excited to read this post at Travel Savvy Mom on the five not-to-be-missed Disney hot spots. On the list, Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot and Tinkerbell’s Flight in the Magic Kingdom.
If you’re still thinking about what to do on Mother’s Day, Trekaroo has some great suggestions, including the best brunch spots and various ideas to spend time together as a family on Sunday.
Another post popped up on the theme of Mother’s Day, this time on the ten best gardens to visit with mom over on Intelligent Travel. As a DC local, I can’t agree more with the inclusion of Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown as one of the best gardens to share with mom this weekend.
Have you seen any other great posts on family travel blogs this week? I’d love to hear what some of the best tips and discussions have been.
