I love fun and quirky museums, and so do my kids. We also love animals, so it’s a perfect match to find fun museums dedicated to some of our favorite animals, like dogs and bunnies. Take a look at four museums all about animals that your kids will love.
Fairview Farm Goat Museum (Dallas, OR)
Adjacent to the Fairview Farm Goat Dairy, stop in the nation’s only goat museum to learn about the role goats have played in our lives over the years. Plus, be sure to say hello to the farm’s 40 goats and watch the cheese making process.
Museum of the Dog (St. Louis, MO)
If your kids like dogs as much as my kids do, then pay a visit to the American Kennel Club’s Museum of the Dog. You’ll find an extensive collection of artwork, plus different types of collars, sculptures and photos of dogs serving in the military. Stop in on weekend afternoons to meet the Guest Dog of the Week.
Cat Museum of San Francisco (San Francisco, CA)
Feline fans, head out west to learn all about the history of cats and their relationship with humans over the last 5,000 years. From ancient Egyptian cat sculptures to the role cats have played in films, like “Alice in Wonderland” and “That Darn Cat,” this museum is sure to please the cat lovers in your family.
The Bunny Museum (Pasadena, CA)
If you like rabbits, stop by to view the world’s largest bunny collection, which includes over 28,000 bunny collectibles. You’ll also find seven real bunnies hopping around the premises. Open 365 days a year by appointment.
