Orlando just seems to get more and more popular with families. There’s Walt Disney World, of course, but there are also so many other attractions, like Universal Studios, LEGOLAND and the Orlando Science Center. You could easily spend a week or two exploring Orlando with your kids. Before you go, take a look at four fabulous hotels you can book now that are perfect for families (plus two more that are set to debut in 2015).
1. Four Seasons Resort Orlando. The newest resort within Walt Disney World officially opened over the weekend complete with a family pool, a spa, a complimentary kids’ camp and a golf course that’s set to open in September. Families will love Explorer Island, an on-site water park complete with water slides, a lazy river and dancing fountains. The Four Seasons Resort Orlando even offers a twice-weekly character breakfast at their on-site restaurant, Ravello.
2. B Resort & Spa. Earlier this summer, the much-anticipated B Resort & Spa opened in the Downtown Disney area of Walt Disney World. Families can enjoy a heated zero-entry pool, tennis courts, a full-service spa (coming soon), courtesy loaner iPads and a kids’ club. Guests will also find a plush toy gopher frog in each room as part of the B Humane program. Guests can “adopt” the stuffed animal to take home and a donation will be made to the Wildlife Foundation of Florida.
3. Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Located at Universal Orlando, the Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a retro-themed resort (think ‘50s and ‘60s) featuring two pools, a lazy river, a bowling alley and a fun dive-tower themed water slide. As a bonus, guests receive early park admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, as well as complimentary shuttle buses to Universal Orlando theme parks. Even better, the Bayliner Diner, a five-station food court, has something for everyone right on-property.
4. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. While Disney’s Art of Animation Resort may have opened last year, this value resort is one worth checking out. The hotel lobby highlights the evolution of animation. Look up and you’ll even see a storyboard chandelier. As you check in, character artists teach kids how to draw Disney characters. Look for family suites, a Finding Nemo pool and a quick-service food court. Kids will also love the Cars-themed section of the resort (so many great photo opps).
In the coming months, look for the LEGOLAND Hotel, which is set to debut in Orlando in 2015. The hotel will feature colorful rooms with LEGO décor and furnishings, as well as interactive play areas. Also, keep your eyes peeled for the opening of Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows next year, which are being built for Disney Vacation Club guests on the Seven Seas Lagoon.
