I’ve been posting a lot recently about Spring Break ideas for families, and for our adventure to Florida in March we’ll be both flying and driving, so a rental car is already on my mind. And, since I’m always looking to save a few bucks here and there while traveling with my family of six, I was excited to learn that Alamo recently re-launched their website with the new Alamo Deal Retriever feature.
From the Alamo website, just click the “Deals” tab at the top of the page to get started. Enter your location and travel dates and Alamo will show you both Alamo Insiders deals and Featured deals, like free upgrades and $15-off weekend rentals. You’ll need to sign up for Alamo Insiders to access certain deals, but it’s a free program and you save 10% on car rentals just by joining the program.
You can also make reservations (even reserve car seats and review your savings as you go through the step-by-step process), check-in and access last-minute specials for travel this week right from the Alamo website. If you’re planning to travel out of the country, don’t forget that you can book international car rentals, too.

I tried the Deal Retriever by entering info for an upcoming trip I am taking. I found it easy to use, and it offered me a 10% discount and an upgrade right away. That would be a great savings.
I like the Alamo Deal Retriever. I always feel like there are no deals to be had out there for car rentals. You need the car, you check the sites and go with the cheapest one, right? And they are all usually pretty close in price….it would be worth it to check out the deals on Alamo first, and then do a side by side comparison. Hmmmm.
