3 Ways to Vacation with Barbie

Do your kids like Barbie dolls or do they really like Barbie dolls? Meaning, are you willing to spend precious vacation time playing with dolls, going to Barbie-theme movie nights and sleeping on hot pink sheets? If the answer is yes, or even maybe, you may want to check out three vacation ideas for the Barbie lover(s) in your family.

Go Cruising with Barbie: Starting in January, the all-new Barbie Premium Experience will be available aboard select Royal Caribbean Ships. The experience offers Barbie Movie Night, Barbie Story Time, and various other Barbie-themed activities. In the Barbie Staterooms, you’ll find Barbie keepsakes, like tote bags, toothbrushes and toiletry bags, as well as Barbie movies to watch when out at sea.

Spend the Night with Barbie: Spend the night in the Fantasy Barbie Suite at The Palms in Las Vegas.  It’s like Barbie’s Malibu Dream House, only just off the strip in Sin City (well, at least it’s off the main strip). You’ll find pink, pink, pink, including pink poodle statues, pink chairs and pink beds. If your little girls love Barbie, they’ll be in complete heaven here, but don’t let them fall in love too soon because when The Palms unveiled this suite in 2009, it was going for a mere $4,000 per night. No doubt the rate has nudged up since then.

Take a Day Trip to a Barbie Museum: If you like Barbie as much as the next mom or dad, but can’t see yourself spending an entire vacation up to your eyeballs in pink, then spend some time in a museum dedicated to Barbie. The National Museum of Play in Rochester, NY features more than 2,300 dolls and Barbie-related items, like clothing and toy vehicles. Or, check out the Hawaii Loves Barbie Dolls Museum in Kailua, HI, which includes more than 5,000 dolls. It’s a private collection, but it’s free and open to the public. Just make an appointment.

Have you checked out any of the above or any other Barbie-themed attractions or vacations? Just let me know in the comments section below.
